Dennis (Denny) Wayne Ball, 71

Dennis “Denny” Wayne Ball, Age 71, of Austin, MN. Passed away on Friday July 12, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Dennis was born on November 25, 1952, in Albert Lea, MN to Warren and Lillian (Wencl) Ball. He graduated from Austin High School in 1971. He held several jobs before going on to college at the Vo-Tech in Austin for Auto Mechanics. He then worked at Hydro Ax/Blount Co for over 25 years. He married Janice Kreuger on September 9th, 1972. They were blessed with three children, Tina, Mindy, and Andy. They later divorced. He married Victoria (McLaughlin), (Avery) on January 15th, 2000. He was blessed with 3 Stepchildren, Christopher, Krystal, and Missy.

Denny throughout his lifetime loved driving race car at Lansing Chateau Speedway and helping work on cars in the pits. His passion was to always be tinkering on his or someone else’s car or truck, or a small engine of some sort. He was a very skilled mechanic and tried to teach us all he knew. When we were growing up, he enjoyed taking us to stockcar races, to tractor and truck pulls, taking Andy to the drag races at the Brainerd International Raceway, camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved snowmobiling and riding his motorcycles. But above all else, and he was most happy when spending time with all of his family and friends. Later in Life he became a very Spiritual Man. Loved to read his Bible, and daily readings with Victoria each morning with coffee. Enjoyed living out in the country, enjoying the birds, and all other of God’s creatures that live out there. He was a man of Deep Faith, and so us as a family are comforted knowing God has taken him Home to Heaven.

He will be remembered most for his Power/Bear Hugs, and the kind, gentle, patient, generous, selfless, goofing around, joking, loving, big hearted man he was to all that met him or knew him well.

Denny is Survived by his three children, Tina Bell (Scott Macal) of Austin, Mindy (Jamey) Schmit of Austin, and Andy (Korin) Ball of Austin. Grandchildren, Dallas Ball (Michaela Sindt), Jaylein Bell, Anthony (Mackenzie) Bell, Lawson Schmit, Kayla, Kenley, Charlie, and Austin Ball. Great Grandchild Elaine Ball, one on the way. His wife Victoria Ball of Owatonna. Stepchildren, Christopher Wallace of Deer Lodge, Montana, Krystal Johnson of Owatonna, and Missy (Nolan) Ahrens of Owatonna. Step Grandchildren, Alexandria Thompson (Gunnar), James Chambers, Carson, Miley, and Maxx Ahrens. Step Grandchild Bryce Thompson, one on the way. Brother Steven Ball of Pierre SD, Sisters Deanna Evans of Kasson, MN, Beth Ball of Austin, Darla (Greg) Hartquist of Austin. Former Spouse Janice Ball of Brownsdale.

Denny was preceded in Death by his Parents, Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Brother Roger and wife Julie Ball, Several other family members, and Close friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
