An Austin man charged in 2021 with several counts of criminal sexual conduct with a child has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.
The sentencing of Peter Mee, 33, came Thursday in Mower County District Court following a conviction by a jury in May. Mee was sentenced on four of the five counts he faced with the longest being a sentence of 156 months, or 13 years, in prison for felony first degree criminal sexual conduct – sexual penetration of a person under the age of 13.
He also received a 140 month prison sentence for felony second degree criminal sexual conduct-victim under 13, 91 months for a second felony second degree criminal sexual conduct-victim under 13 and 36 months for a third count of second degree criminal sexual conduct-victim under 13.
A fifth charge — felony second degree criminal sexual conduct-significant relationship-multiple acts — was not adjudicated because it was a lesser offense.
Sentences will run concurrently.
Mee was arrested in August of 2021 after a man reported to law enforcement that his daughter, who was 12-years-old, had disclosed that she had been sexually abused by Mee, who was known to her.
According to the court complaint, the victim disclosed to a child protection worker with Mower County Human Services that incidents by Mee occurred when she was as young as eight years old and 10 years old, with the most recent incident taking place on Aug 22, 2021.
