Darrell D. Amdahl, 90

Darrell Duane Amdahl, age 90, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Cedar Court Assisted Living in Adams. Darrell was born on December 10, 1933, to Irvin and Olga (Haarstad) Amdahl in Spring Grove, Minnesota, the family later moved to Austin, where Darrell was confirmed and attended school. He was the oldest of 4 boys. Darrell was a devoted Lutheran and could be found in the front row of Grace Lutheran Church every Sunday morning until his health prohibited him from attending, then he watched services on TV. Darrell worked at Owatonna Canning for many years then at Cedar Valley until his retirement. He loved mustangs, often driving the newest models, wearing Big Mac Overalls and Diet Pepsi.
Darrell is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Amdahl; nieces, Colleen (Scott), Sandy (Dave), and Nici (Pete); nephews, Scott (Angie) Amdahl, Brad Amdahl, and Greg (Kathy); many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Olga; brothers, Rodney, Blaine, and Marlin; sister-in-law, Pat; nieces, Barbara, Carol, and Debbie; and nephew, James.
The family of Darrell would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to those who have enriched Darrell’s life along the way, including the staff at Cedar Valley, the Heckla House, the Carlson Home, and most recently Cedar Court and St Croix Hospice.

A funeral service for Darrell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
