June Adele Gennrich, 90, of Austin, Minnesota died Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.

June was born June 21, 1934 in Rockford, Illinois to Louie and Alice (Broadway) Thompson. She graduated from Rockford West High School in 1951 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University. June worked as an accountant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and met her future husband, Marvin Gennrich. They were married in Milwaukee on April 28, 1962 and moved to Greendale, Wisconsin where their children were born, and later, they moved to Austin, Minnesota in 1971 when Marvin began his job with Hormel.

June was a homemaker and stayed home to raise her two children. In retirement, they enjoyed spending time at their lake home in northern Wisconsin and visiting with family, friends, and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin in 1992; daughter, Carol Solland; and sister, Garnet Munts.

June is survived by her son, Bruce Gennrich of Eden Prairie, MN; granddaughter, Stephanie (Shaun) Lenway of Lyle, MN; great grandson, Carson Douglas Lenway; nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 27th at Fairview Cemetery in Oakland with the Reverend Michael Olmsted officiating.
