Lydia M. Clingman, 96

Lydia Margaret Clingman, age 96, of Austin, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Sacred Heart Care Center.

Lydia was born on September 27, 1927 in Austin, Minnesota to Martin and Mary (Parsley) Jensen. She graduated from Austin High School in 1947. On May 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to Neale A. Clingman.

Lydia was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church where she was in the Women’s Society and was also the financial secretary. She later joined First United Methodist Church.

She worked at the Mower County Shopper and Austin Transportation.

Lydia loved to go camping and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins, Timberwolves, and the Austin Bruins.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Debra) Clingman, Duluth, Minnesota, Nancy (Terry) Jacobsen, Stanhope, Iowa, Brian (Nancy) Clingman, Austin, Minnesota; grandchildren, Chad, Amber, Stacy, Nick, Lisa; nine great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neale in 1991; parents; brothers, Fredrick and Martin, Jr.; sister, Hazel.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Reverend Vickie Spyhalski officiating.

Memorials are preferred to the First United Methodist Church, 204 1st Avenue NW, Austin, MN 55912 or to the family.
