Paula Kay Coddington (née Olson), aged 68, passed away on April 11, 2024, at Saint Marks Living in Austin, MN, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Austin, MN, on March 27, 1956, Paula’s life was marked by her selfless, giving nature and her free-spirited love for life and animals, especially her cherished fur grandbabies.
Paula’s career was dedicated to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT). Upon retirement, she devoted her time to caring for her father, Richard, and her beloved grandchildren, who brought immense joy and fulfillment to her life. Her love for camping, fishing, and music often brought her close to nature and friends, creating lasting memories cherished by all who knew her.
Paula is survived by her loving children, Steven Coddington Jr., Carly Coddington, and Amy Coddington; grandchildren Sadie Coddington and Jude Giovannetti; niece Trista Gaucher; and brother-in-law Paul Byron. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Peggy Olson (Burns), and her sister Pamela Byron (Olson).
A celebration of Paula’s life will be held at Todd Park Pavilion #1 on September 2, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event will feature live music, food, and refreshments, celebrating the joy Paula brought into the world. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at St. Marks Living and the St. Croix Hospice care team for their compassionate care in Paula’s final months.
Paula’s legacy is one of love, care, and an unending commitment to her family and friends. Her life’s story is a beautiful reminder of the impact one individual can have on the lives of many.
