The Austin School Board held a special meeting on 7/22/24 in the District Office Conf Room, 401 Third Ave NW in Austin. Chair Dube called meeting to order at 4 pm. Members present Carolyn Dube, Kathy Green, Cece Kroc, Carol McAlister, and Evan Sorenson. Don Leathers and Peggy Young absent.
Kroc/Green approval of agenda, 5-0
McAlister/Sorenson approval of personnel report, 5-0
Haugen provided report on digital equity.
Green/Sorenson to approve student handbook. Discussion followed. Green amended motion to request removal of section titled Holiday Celebrations and Parties on page 7. Seconded by Sorenson and carried 5-0. Green/Sorenson to approve the amended 2024-25 student handbook, 5-0
Individual motions were made, seconded and carried unanimously to approve revised policies 503, 513, 516, and 514.
Green requested two edits to new policy 606.5 – Library Materials. Green/Sorenson to approve edited version of policy 606.5, 5-0
Kroc/McAlister to approve revised policy 613 with a slight correction noted, 5-0
2024-25 goals discussed.
Chair Dube shared summary from superintendent’s 6/10/24 evaluation.
Sorenson/Green to adjourn at 5:55 pm, 5-0
