Samuel K. Alm, 39

Samuel Keith Alm, age 39, of Owatonna, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Sam was born on April 22, 1985, in Rochester, Minnesota to John Alm and Anna Alm (Dunham). He was a 2004 graduate of Austin High School and after high school he furthered his passion for mechanics by obtaining his ASE Master Technician certification. He was baptized and grew up attending church at Crane Community Chapel in Austin. Throughout his career, Sam worked as a skilled mechanic at various auto shops, most recently at 4th Street Auto in St. Ansgar, Iowa, and Darrickā€™s Preferred Auto in Blooming Prairie. His love for cars and anything with a motor was evident in his work, Sam loved working on motorcycles, old school muscle cars, and race cars. He took great pleasure in teaching and mentoring both young and old, imparting his extensive knowledge of mechanics with patience and enthusiasm.

In addition to his work, Sam was known for his adventurous spirit and love of trying new things. He enjoyed playing pool, cooking recipes that reminded him of grade school, and traveling to any destination that connected him with nature. In recent years, Samuel developed a deep passion for the Western lifestyle in Arizona, finding joy in riding horses, camping in the mountains, and proudly wearing his signature cowboy hat. He cherished the dream of one day owning a piece of land with his own auto shop, a donkey, and a loyal dog. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Sam, while as strong as an oak tree, had a heart as soft as a feather. His infectious smile could light up a tunnel, and his kind heart could lift you off your knees. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and powerful hugs.
