GRAND MEADOW – Motorists traveling on Highway 16 east of Grand Meadow will encounter a temporary traffic signal beginning Aug. 19 to allow for single-lane traffic to take turns crossing the Bear Creek bridge during repair work, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists will see the temporary traffic signal, which will allow them to take turns over the single open lane of the bridge during the work. Brief delays can be expected. Eastbound lanes will be closed first and then crews will move to the westbound lanes as the work progresses.
MnDOT bridge maintenance crews will replace expansion joints at each end of the bridge, complete some painting, and review the structure for any other repairs. Crews expect to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.
