The Austin volleyball team lost its season opener at St. Peter by scores of 25-6, 25-18, 25-18 in St. Peter Tuesday.

The Packers (0-1 overall) will look to bounce back when they host Stewartville at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

“We struggled to get going at the beginning of the night,” Austin head coach Nichelle Guillaume said. “As the night progressed we started to work out our kinks but still fell short. We definitely learned some of our weak spots and what we need to focus on in future practices. There’s definitely room for growth, which is expected since it’s early in the season. So, we get back in the gym and work hard tomorrow.”
