Thomas Edward Easley, 88, of Hayfield, MN, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, MN.
Thomas was born on November 30, 1935, to Fredrick and Susanna (Gunnels) Easley. He grew up in Mason City, IA, and his early courage was evident when he enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17. His 3.5 years in the military, including service during the Korean War, were a testament to his bravery. He was awarded a National Defense Service medal for his service. He was proud to serve in the 101st Airborne – The Screaming Eagles. Following his service, he worked for his father doing plaster work. He then got into the plumbing and heating industry, eventually building his own successful heating and plumbing business.
Thomas married Beverly Cookman on February 7, 1959, in Sioux Falls, SD, and had six children together. He was a loyal Packers fan who would bet against the Vikings any chance he could. But above all, he cherished spending time with his family, fishing, camping, and going on road trips. His contagious smile, storytelling, and sarcasm are fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Thomas is survived by his children, Tammy (Lynn) Senne, Tom (Barb) Easley, Terry (Sandy) Easley, Fred Easley, Mary (Shane) Maben; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
