Dorothy Catherine Gerber, 87, of Adams, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Grand Meadow Senior Living Center.
Dorothy was born August 26, 1937 to Frederick and Anna (Heimer) Landherr in Johnsburg, Minnesota, the youngest child with three sisters and four brothers. She grew up on the family farm near Johnsburg, Minnesota, and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Elementary School in Johnsburg before graduating from Adams High School in 1955.
Dorothy married Gerald Gerber on September 23, 1972, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Johnsburg and resided in rural Adams. She worked as a clerk at Quality Foods and Corky’s Corner and assisted with the family farm. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church where she previously served as a CCW officer. She enjoyed frequent cards games, coffee with friends at The Hitching Post and fall trips to Branson, Missouri. Dorothy will be remembered for her great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gerald Landherr; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Irene Landherr; brother, Jerome “Slim” Landherr; brother Herbert “PeeWee” Landherr; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and LaVerne Felten; sisters, Joan Landherr, and Anna Howden; Mother and Father-in-law, Margaret and Robert Gerber; and Brothers-in-law, Richard Gerber and John Garvey.
Dorothy is survived by her Husband: Gerald Gerber, Sister-in-law: LaVonne Landherr; Sister-in-law: Barbara Garvey; Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law: Cindy and John Thomas; Sister-in-law: Marlys Gerber; Nieces and Nephews: Justin (Lynnette) Gerber, Andrea Gerber, Eric Gerber, Rachel Kelly, Allison Garvey, Michelle (Glenn) Illig, Sarah Thomas, Tim (Heather) Thomas, Chuck (Cindy) Landherr, Tom Landherr, Susie (Brent) Lunde, Debbie Landherr, Kay Brown, Gary (Sue) Felten, and Ron (Kim) Felten, many Great Nieces and Nephews; and Special Friend: Jennifer Ellefson
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with Father James Berning officiating. Visitation will be held at the Adams Funeral Home from 5-7 pm on Wednesday with a 4:45 pm Rosary, and will continue at the church for hour before the service on Thursday. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
