Elodia Yolanda Lopez Hernandez, 79

Elodia Yolanda Lopez Hernandez, age 79, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at her home. Elodia was born May 6, 1945, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, to Victor Lopez and Manuela Hernandez. She attended school in Piedras Negras and lived in various places throughout her life such as San Antonio, Dallas, and Michigan before she resided in Austin, Minnesota. Elodia was a migrant worker and a live-in nanny. She was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Churches in Austin and Albert Lea, Minnesota. Elodia enjoyed taking care of her family, attending church services, gardening, cooking, and chatting on the phone with her family in Mexico.

Survivors from her DeLuna, Trevino, Lopez, and Rodriguez families include her daughters, sons, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Elodia birthed a son, Oscar Rene Lopez in 1960 and has been searching for him for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters.

A memorial gathering will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. Interment will be in St. Columbanus Catholic Cemetery, Blooming Prairie. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
