Smart Transit is announcing a change in services due to construction in Austin.

Due to bridge construction in the coming weeks and months on Fourth Street NW, the following route  changes have been made in Austin with SMART’s Red Route:

  • Minor change to route path upon leaving Mayo Health Systems: Bus will head west down 10th Avenue NW and turn on 14th Street NW.
  • Published times for stops 9, 10 and 11 in SMART’s route map (Hy-Vee, Marshalls and Walmart) have been slightly modified.
  • Aldi has become a “request stop.” Bus will not automatically stop. Riders should alert drivers for drop-off when boarding and call dispatch for pick-up.

Note: Purple Route now has changed to end at 5 p.m., a change from its previous end time of 9 a.m., with a request stop on Red Route for those who need it after Purple service ends.
