Dennis L. Stephenson, 64

Dennis Lee Stephenson, age 64, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester – Saint Marys Campus. Dennis (Denny) was born October 14, 1960, to Stanley and Jane (Srnec) Stephenson in Rochester, Minnesota. He attended Austin High School and graduated in 1979; from there he continued his education at Austin Vocational Technical School.

Denny married Ann Tubbs on June 1, 1985, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin and the couple was blessed with three children. In 2008, he took over his father’s crop insurance agency. Denny had many hobbies. He loved to build and fly radio control airplanes, all things aviation, fishing, golfing, tinkering and building things, traveling, supporting local sports and NASCAR. Family vacations to Shell Lake, WI were treasured annual traditions that he very much enjoyed. Denny was a master of all trades, an amateur wine maker, and an animal lover – he never met a cat he couldn’t be friends with. Most of all, he cherished spending time with family and friends.

Denny is survived by his wife, Ann, of Austin, MN; his children, Adam Stephenson of Minneapolis, MN, Caitlin (Ben) Wolter of Rochester, MN, and Erik Stephenson of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Lena Wolter and Graham Wolter; his siblings, Julie Stephenson of Austin, MN, Karen Stephenson of Austin, MN, Janice (Joel) Maxfield of Sparta, WI, and Janine (Brian) Nordland of Owatonna, MN; sister-in-law, Mary (Greg) Peterson of Hayfield, MN; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Jane Stephenson; brother, William Stephenson; and his parents-in-law, Pierce and Margaret Tubbs.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin, MN. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin, MN and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the family. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
