Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Mower County Humane Society (MCHS)  would like to thank ALL of the community members who contributed to the new MCHS catio extension. This project was completely financed through donations from our supporters. With your help, we finished the catio extension in August, and the 132 cats/kittens are enjoying the much-needed additional space to run, play, and lounge!

MCHS was originally designed to house a maximum of 100 cats/kittens.  This past year, we have fluctuated between 100 to a high of 155. With the added numbers and fewer volunteers, it has been a somewhat stressful year.  How can you help?  The number one solution is to SPAY OR NEUTER your cat!  Treat your neighbors with respect—don’t allow your pet to roam.  (In addition, City of Austin ordinance is very clear—all pets, cats, dogs, rabbits, etc, are to be contained on your property.)  Finally, don’t adopt a pet if you are not 100% sure you will be able to properly care for it for its entire life.  Care includes the initial vet work of a spay or neuter and yearly exams and boosters, etc.

THANK YOU to all who have supported the Mower County Humane Society through donating, volunteering or giving positive feedback.  Without your support, this all-volunteer group would not be as successful as it has been in helping to rehome the abandoned pets in our community.
