Mary Lou Ihns, 81

Mary Lou Ihns, age 81, formerly of Le Roy, Minnesota, died on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Grand Meadow Senior Living, in Grand Meadow, Minnesota, where she has resided the last 8 ½ years.

Funeral service for Mary Lou will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Le Roy Lutheran Church, in Le Roy, Minnesota, with Pastor Herman Bakker officiating. Visitation will take place for one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be at Le Roy Cemetery.

Mary Lou (Erie) Ihns was born on March 28, 1943 to Elmer and Pearl Erie at their family farm west of Le Roy.

She graduated from Le Roy – Ostrander in 1961. She was united in marriage to Larry Ihns on October 22, 1977 at the Le Roy Lutheran Church. They adopted two children.

Mar Lou was employed at various places around Le Roy and Grand Meadow. She retired for LPC in Le Roy. Her hobbies were traveling with family every summer until health reasons, and could no longer do it. She also enjoyed reading and doing things on her Kindle tablet.

She is survived by her husband Larry Ihns of Le Roy, MN; son Gregory of Austin, MN; daughter Tracy of Rochester, MN; one brother Wayne (Bonnie) Erie of Rochester; one niece and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Pearl Erie, and one infant brother Raymond Erie at the age of 2.
