Bradley “Brad” Jon Hines, age 66, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, with his family at his side. Brad was born on February 27, 1958, in Austin, to Eldon and Berniece (Peterson) Hines. He graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1976. Brad married the love of his life, Wendy Sue Schewe, on December 3, 1983, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with four children, Michael, Lauren, Jonathan, and William. Over the years, Brad worked at Betlach stocking shelves and delivering groceries, as a tire repairman at Cenex, and at Darrick’s Preferred Auto as a mechanic and tire repairman but his expertise was in customer relations. Farming was a way of life for Brad, and he also enjoyed crop checking, and visiting with family and friends. He also liked collecting toy tractors, some of which were larger than toys.
Brad is survived by his wife of almost 41 years, Wendy; children, Michael (Devin) Hines of Austin, Lauren (Chris) Heilemann of Clarksville, TN, Jonathan Hines of Austin, and William Hines of Blooming Prairie; grandchildren, Adalynn and Scarlett Heilemann, and Lillian Hines; brother, Steve (Sherry) Hines of Harmony, MN; mother-in-law, Deanna Schewe; brothers-in-law, Darrick (Wendy) Schewe, and Daniel (Kasee) Schewe; sisters-in-law, Val Schewe, Chris (Brian) Wencl, Kelly (Lance) Saathoff; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Berniece Hines; father-in-law, Keith Schewe; and brother-in-law, Wade Schewe.
The funeral service for Brad will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, rural Austin. The visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will be in Red Oak Grove Cemetery. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home of Blooming Prairie is assisting the family with arrangements.
