Marcella “Marcy” Warrington, 82

Marcella “Marcy” Mae Warrington, age 82, of Austin, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday November 26, 2024.

Marcy was born on May 6, 1942 in Austin, MN to Frank and Lilian (Viktora) Sistek. She grew up on a farm near Myrtle, MN and attended school in Glenville, MN. Following graduation, Marcy was united in marriage to David Warrington on September 30, 1961 in Austin, MN. They were blessed with two sons, Danny and Derek. Marcy was employed at St. Olaf/Mayo for 28 years and the Tendermaid for 25 years.

Marcy loved music and played in two bands, “The Black Aces” and “The Joe Myran Band.” Marcy and her sister Janet also played with the “Roy Lily Band” and they performed on the cancer telethon on two occasions. Marcy played guitar, drums, accordion and piano. On top of all of this music talent, Marcy was also a gifted singer. Marcy also loved nature. She really enjoyed taking care of her flowers in her yard and feeding all the birds in Southwest Austin. In 1995, Marcy met her soulmate Gary Heiny of Austin, MN. For 29 years they made a lifetime of memories. Their favorite times together included camping, dancing, traveling, and boating. Together their most treasured times were those spent with family and friends. Through all the years together, Marcy and Gary were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, with more on the way. Marcy was a friend to many. Through the years they camped with friends and spent winters in Lake Havasu, AZ.

Marcy is survived by her sons: Danny Warrington of Bemidji, MN and Derek (Dana) Warrington, of Albert Lea MN, her partner: Gary Heiny of Austin, MN, his children: Lori (Rod) Vitzthum, Algona IA, Chad Heiny, California, Tiffany (Scott) Nowak of Wells, MN; grandchildren: Lydia (Ryan) Lyon, Lukes Ball, Autumn Warrington, Adava Warrington, Taryn (Ted) Nerison, Noelle (Justin) Firkins, Cassidy Vitzthum (Grant Carroll), Cody Dobbe, Casey Dobbe (Estelle Marker), Kayla Nowak and 5 great-grandchildren; sister: Janet (Jerry) Svoboda, brothers, Dale Sistek and Donny (Ann) Sistek. Marcy is also survived by many very special nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.

Marcy is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lillian Sistek, David Warrington and daughter Tamra Warrington.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with Pastor Vickie Spyhalski officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service. Interment will be in Cedar City Cemetery.
