Seth Alan VanPelt, age 43, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, November 25, 2024, at his home in Austin, Minnesota. Seth was born on March 27, 1981, in Austin, to Keith VanPelt and Cheryl (Miller) VanPelt. He graduated from Austin High School in 1999 and following high school he attended Riverland and received a certificate in Maintenance Electrician. In 2000, he began his lifetime career at Hormel Foods. He has held a few different positions through the years but spent the last several with Research and Development. He furthered his education by graduating with his Bachelor of Science in Business from Southwest State. On August 16, 2008, Seth married Holly Thomas at Queen of Angels Church in Austin. Seth enjoyed his family, his two dogs, his chickens and the outdoors. Seth had many hobbies including fishing, lure making, hunting, archery, deer processing, smoking meat, and cooking. He also enjoyed cars and small engines. Seth was extremely handy and was willing to tackle almost any project and enjoyed “figuring it out”. You would often see him showing the kids how to make fishing lures, how to cook, and how to fix things. Sharing these hobbies with his children was one of his greatest joys. Seth had a contagious sense of humor with a gift of delivering funny one-liners. He enjoyed bantering with friends and family and often quoting classic lines from movies.
