None of the race outcomes changed; voter tallies now updated on Secretary of State’s Office
A technical issue encountered during the upload of General Election results from Mower County late Tuesday have led to some incorrect reported totals, though the problem has since been corrected and do not change any of the race results related to winners and losers.
After the final ballots had been counted Tuesday night, the Elections Office began having issues due to a hardware/software issue when uploading to the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office according to a statement on the Mower County website.
“Mower County encountered a hardware/software issue in uploading the unofficial general election results Tuesday evening, Nov. 5,” the state reads. “In the course of uploading the data, some of the vote totals were incorrectly reported. However, as part of the regular process of reviewing and checking the unofficial results, we found and have corrected the technical upload errors. All of the ballots were accurately tabulated and the unofficial results match the summary statements from the polling locations.”
Numbers on the Secretary of State’s website should account for any varying differences and reflect the actual counts.
