Are you looking for fun, engaging activities for yourself or a loved one? LIFE Mower County offers programs and events for individuals of all ages, with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). You don’t even need to be a member to join the fun! Here’s how you can get involved.
Who Can Participate? Anyone can take part in LIFE Mower County activities. Membership is not required, but becoming a member has its perks! Members enjoy discounts on activity fees, early access to the activity guide, a bi-monthly newsletter delivered to your home or email, and FREE transportation for members age 18 and older.
Membership Details
Individuals with or without I/DD (Up to Age 17): FREE
Individuals with I/DD (Age 18+): $30.00 per year
Not from Mower County? No Problem! You don’t have to live in Mower County to participate. LIFE Mower County welcomes individuals from all communities. Whether you are looking for advocacy, family support, or recreational programs, there is something for everyone. By including participants from different areas, LIFE Mower County creates a welcoming space where people can learn, grow, and connect with others.
Why Join? LIFE Mower County is about more than just activities. It’s about building friendships, gaining confidence, and having fun in an inclusive environment. Membership helps support these important programs while offering great benefits to participants.

Warm up this winter at People First Aktion Club’s Soup and Chili Supper
People First Aktion Club invites you to their annual Soup and Chili Supper on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Mower County Senior Center, located at 400 Third Ave NE, Austin. Whether you prefer to dine in or take your meal to go, this event promises delicious food, warm company, and a great cause.
Tickets and purchasing advance tickets will be available starting Jan. 2, 2025, at LIFE Mower County during regular business hours.
Adults: $10
Children (12 and under): $7
At-the-door tickets will also be available:

Payments can be made with cash or check, payable to People First.
What’s on the Menu? Each meal includes your choice of chicken dumpling soup and/or chili, paired with garlic bread, dessert, crackers, and beverages. A variety of flavored popcorn will also be for sale, including white cheddar, cheese, caramel, butter, and kettle corn—all for just $10 per bag.
How You Can Help This event relies on community support! Donations of boneless chicken, hamburger, carrots, celery, and financial contributions will help cut costs and increase proceeds. To donate, call the LIFE Mower County office at 507-433-8994.
