LeRoy-Ostrander’s Hungerholt named Mr. Football

LeRoy-Ostrander senior Cam Hungerholt made state history when he was named Mr. Football by the Minnesota Football Coach’s Association on Sunday.
Hungerholt is the first ever nine-man player to receive the award, which recognizes the best prep football player in the state of Minnesota.
Hungerholt’s 5,267 all-purpose yards this season with LeRoy-Ostrander/Lyle-Pacelli set a new record for the state as he ran for 2,846 yards and threw for 2,421 yards. Hungerholt amassed 11,984 yards and 147 TDs in his Cardinal career.
Hungerholt also made the Minnesota Vikings All-State Team and he was a North/South All-Star game selection.
On defense, Hungerholt had 94 tackles, 1.5 sacks and four interceptions this season.
Hungerholt was a four-year starter for the Cardinals as his team won the nine man title in 2021. The Cardinals advanced to the state semifinals this season.
