Norma A. Keller, age 100, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin. Norma Agnes Murphy was born on June 17, 1924, in Austin, Minnesota, to Bernard and Lela (Walsh) Murphy. She spent her childhood years in the Lyle area, graduating from Lyle High School. Upon graduation she moved to Austin, Minnesota and was employed with Hormel Company. She met and married Harold Keller at Queen of Angels Catholic Church on August 3, 1946. To this union, five children were born. Norma was a homemaker, raising her family in a spotless home with homemade meals and plenty of mending and sewing. She enjoyed annual vacations up north at Pelican Lake as well as golfing, biking with neighbors, crafting, baking and making goodies for all. Norma’s faith was of utmost importance, and she was a lifelong parishioner. Norma was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed volunteering at the church, often baking/serving at funerals. Norma was an avid sports fan with favorite teams, the Timberwolves and the Twins. She very seldom missed a game. Norma was loved by family and friends and will be missed.
Norma is survived by her sister, Jeanine (Jerry) Kellogg; children, Nyla, Daniel, James, Suzette, and Julie; grandchildren, Steve, Michelle, Kristin, Jared, Tyler, and Nathan; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Eric Jr., Brooke, Eve, Greyson, Ryder, and Rhys. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Keller.
The funeral service for Norma will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin with Fr. Thien Nguyen officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
