Orrie M. Anderson, 98

Orrie Myron Anderson, 98, of Adams, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Cedar Court Assisted Living.
Orrie was born May 20, 1926 on a farm near Lyle, Minnesota to Irving and Alice (Ranson) Anderson. His family moved to a farm near Elkton when Orrie was four years old. He was baptized and confirmed at Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams. Orrie attended Grade School and High School in Elkton. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1944 to 1947. Orrie married Dorothy Wigham in 1948, and to this union, four children were born, Bonnie, Carol, Dawn and Mark. Orrie worked as a custodian for many years.
Orrie was a faithful member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council. He was a member of the Adams American Legion Post 146 and served on the Adams Fire Department.
He enjoyed going to garage sales and auctions all over southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Avis Trib and Norma Underdahl; brother, Clinton Anderson; and son-in-law, Dale Miller.
Orrie is survived by his wife of 76 years, Dorothy Anderson; children: Bonnie (Ron) Hemann, Carol (Dave) Aldeen, Dawn (Dale-deceased) Miller, and Mark (Gail) Anderson; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28th at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with the Reverend Jeremy Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Little Cedar Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
