Gil L. Wambeam, 56

Gil Lee Wambeam, age 56, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at his home in Lansing, Minnesota. Gil was born on October 28, 1968, in New Prague, Minnesota. In 1970, he got his forever home in Austin with Rodger and Judy (Tidemanson) Wambeam and his big sister, Denise. He was a lifelong member of Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. Gil graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1987. During his school years, he was an active member of 4-H and FFA, showing sheep and calves. He worked at Edwards Manufacturing for many years as a manufacturing technician. He learned to fish at a young age, and it became his passion. Gil loved his family and his big group of great friends that were in his life. He enjoyed life and found joy in the simplest things.

Gil is survived by his mother, Judy Wambeam of Austin; sons, Stephan (Heather Hatfield) Wagoner of Austin, and Jayden (Lisa Carlstrom) Wambeam of Zumbrota; three grandchildren, Dakota Wagoner, Carter Wambeam, and Keelan Wambeam; fiancé, Angie Higgins of Austin; sister, Denise Wambeam; and many aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Rodger Wambeam; grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
