Joanne C. Knutson

Joanne Knutson was a loving mother, grandmother and wife who passed away at home on Monday, January 27, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Joanne was born in Austin, Minnesota on May 5th, 1941 to Delbert and Mary Hobbs. She graduated from Pacelli High School in 1959. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenny Knutson, on January 7th, 1961. On December 28 and May 11th she welcomed her two children who were very important to her.

Joanne was the hostess with the mostest at Kenny’s Oak Grill since her and Kenny bought the restaurant in 1965. She loved country music, glitter, casino trips and Diet Coke. She liked to go vacationing on Ten Mile Lake with her family and friends. She was an avid Beanie Baby collector. She also loved to line dance with Kenny back in the day and they even won a trophy at The Tower for their dancing. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Mary Hobbs and sister, Shirley Heimer.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 64 years, Kenny Knutson; children, Tony (Shaneva) Knutson and Kim (Joe) Mohrfeld; grandchildren, Joe (Krystal Angelo) Mohrfeld, Steph (Brent) Steffen, Heather Knutson, Brett Knutson, and Wyatt Knutson; great grandchildren, Lauren and Levi Steffen and Ivy Roberts.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, February 3rd at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Andrew Beerman officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Sunday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with recitation of the rosary at 4:00. Visitation will also be at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Special thanks to St. Croix Hospice and her granddaughter Heather who made it possible for Joanne to pass peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.
