Judy A. Jacobsen, 76

Judy Ann Jacobsen, age 76, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin. Judy was born July 11, 1948, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Elmer and Dorothy (Bender) Lee. She graduated from Austin High School in 1966 and then went on to attend Austin Vo-Tech for cosmetology. Following college, Judy opened her own beauty shop, The Beauty Boutique, which she ran from 1968 until 2014. She was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin and the Bowling 600 Club. Judy was a passionate bowler who dedicated much of her life to the sport. She not only enjoyed bowling but also took pride in coaching youth bowlers, sponsoring her bowling team, and participating in state and national tournaments. Her love for the game extended to serving as a league officer. Judy was also known for her creative spirit, with hobbies that included sewing, knitting, crocheting, and card making. She also found joy in golfing, camping, and family time, especially with her granddaughters. Judy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Jacobsen; daughter, Angela (Jeff) Hughson; three grandchildren, Mackai, Brynn (Jaren Steene), and Allie; siblings, Eddie (Judy) Lee, Dennis Lee, Dale (Julie) Lee, David (Brenda) Lee, Sheila Blacketer; two sisters-in-law, Diane (Larry) Lamm and Joanne Jacobsen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Dorothy Lee; stepmother, Phyllis; sisters, Shirley and Joyce; brothers-in-law, Duane Jacobsen and Gary Jacobsen; and niece, Michelle Majewski.

A funeral service for Judy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. The visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin, Minnesota. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
