In case you haven’t noticed, there’s been some extra life injected into the Main Street area, contributing to the overall good health to a city’s downtown.

Most recently, it’s been the opening of Main Street Pinball. in the latter half of last year Hey Darling, a book store dedicated to romance books, opened, and of course in the last couple years Hot Off the Press Comics and Coffee brought its offering to downtown.

What this shows is that there are those dedicated to bringing something they are passionate about to the people shopping downtown and that kind of dedication and risk is worth lauding.

It’s not easy opening a business. It takes long days and nights of planning, more than a few sleepless nights and a determination to try and make it work.

Nothing about it is easy and yet these people, for their various reasons, are stepping into the local business world.

The future is always unpredictable and from the very beginning we all hope they will make it because each business in their own way is dedicating a portion of their lives bringing something new and interesting to Austin.

These three examples as well as anybody else opening a business in the Austin area are adding to an economy that is steadfast to the success of our community.
