The Austin girls basketball team suffered its first loss of the season when it was defeated by Mahtomedi (8-3 overall) 74-52 in Kasson-Mantorville Saturday.

The Packers (9-1 overall) were led by senior Marissa Shute, who put up 17 points.

Mahotomedi made 13 three-pointers in the game and they led 40-29 at halftime.
