A threat made by a student Tuesday at Hayfield Community Schools was deemed non-credible according to Superintendent Gregg Slaathaug.
In a letter to families, Slaathaug explained that after the student made the threat, which wasn’t detailed, administration and law enforcement determined that the threat wasn’t credible.
“After careful review, we found the threat to be non-credible and have dealt with the situation appropriately,” the letter read. “The student involved will face the necessary consequences, and we will continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of all students and staff.”
The letter goes on to explain that the threat was made in vain and there was no danger to either students or staff.
“Our close collaboration with law enforcement ensures that we have can respond swiftly to situations like these and maintain a safe and secure learning environment,” Slaathaug said in the letter.
