The Austin City Council on Monday night approved a public hearing date regarding an addition to Nature Ridge Fourth development.

The council approved unanimously a March 3 public hearing regarding street improvements to the development, which City Engineer Steven Lang said would be the first project that the city gets involved in regarding financing of the project.

There were few details given about the project Monday night, though Lang said more will begin to be revealed during follow-up meetings.

The estimated cost of the project is $1.635 million and according to a memo to the council from Lang, 100% of the project costs would be assessed to the addition’s developed/benefitting parcels equally — 30 lots in total.

The Nature Ridge Fourth development is located across 21st Street NW to the west of the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center.
