L. F. "Mac" McCormack, 55
L. F. "Mac" Mc-Cormack, 55, of Austin, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
He was born June 10, 1947 in Dover, New Jersey to George and Anna (Colwell) McCormack.
He married Sharon Rust on July 13,1968 in Rochester.
He was a retired employee of U.S. West Telephone Company.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Survivors include wife Sharon McCormack, Austin; daughter Michele (Matt) Adams, Princeton; son Jeff (Aimee) McCormack, Austin; six grandchildren; sister JoAnn (Herb) Mauro, Newton, N.J.; uncle Bill (Evelyn) McCormack, Toms River, N.J.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church.
Service: 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Faith Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Pat Wester officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, with military rites by American Legion Post #91.

Grace Naoma Earl, 89
Grace Naoma Earl, 89 died Friday, October 11, 2002, at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, Iowa.
She was born on August 11, 1913 in Freeborn County to Casper and Lilly (Lerum) Earl.
She graduated from Austin High School and Mankato State College (Minnesota State University-Mankato).
She began teaching in 1932 in Freeborn County Country Schools and taught in Lansing, Lyle and Hayfield (Brownsdale) Schools until her retirement in 1978.
On December 28, 1939, she married John Lafferty in Austin.
She lived most of her adult life in Austin before moving to St. Ansgar in 2001.
Grace enjoyed reading and playing bridge.
She took many trips to Ontario, Canada to fish with her family and friends.
Survivors include son Dr. John (Rebecca) Lafferty, St. Ansgar; two grandchildren; sister Anne Arett, Austin; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at St. Ansgar United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jay Amundson officiating.
Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Oakland, where a graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Edna Helen Hamberg, 85
Edna Helen Hamberg, 85, of Austin died Friday, October 11, 2002, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center, Austin.
She was born March 6, 1917, in Freeborn County, to Jacob and Sella (Christopherson) Fodness.
She graduated from Austin High School in 1934.
She married to Clifford Hamberg on August 3, 1963 in Mapleview.
They farmed in the Oakland area until retiring.
Survivors include brothers James (Priscilla) Fodness, Glenville, John Fodness, Cleveland, Tex.; sisters Gladys Sorenson, Austin, Ruth Rauen, Austin, Annette Bond, Austin; Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Dorothy Hamberg, Albert Lea, Violet and Tony Falk, Austin, Lorraine Spillman, Seaside, Ore., Dale Myhre, Fairmont; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers Franklin, Marvin, Marry and Raymond and sisters Esther and Alice.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the chapel.
Service: 1 p.m., Wednesday, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with The Rev. Russ Wangen officiating.
Interment: Hillcrest Cemetery, Oakland.
