Five of Lyle/Pacelli's six cross country runners posted personal-best times as L/P competed in its final regular-season meet Thursday at the Cannon Falls Invitational.
Four of Lyle/Pacelli's boys runners hustled up career-bests, led by Josh Gunderson's fifth-place finish. Gunderson clocked in at 17 minutes 29 seconds to help L/P to fifth as a team. Dan Rysavy took 13th in a time of 18:40 -- his personal-best -- and T.J. Parlin was 15th in 18:49. Shawn Pfeil and Jimmy McDermott came in 28th and 30th respectively with personal-bests. Pfeil's time was 21:05, while McDermott made it through in 22:10.
Kate Boisjolie was the lone runner for the Lyle/Pacelli girls, placing third overall in a career-best time of 15:54. Zumbrota-Mazeppa/Kenyon-Wanamingo's Dana Peters took her place atop the girls' competition.
"This was a great day to run," said L/P coach Jim Parlin. "Our team ran very well with many personal-best times. It was another good tune-up for the section meet."
Lyle/Pacelli joins the rest of the area's smaller schools on Thursday, Oct. 24, for the Section 1A meet at Northern Hills Golf Course in Rochester.
