Allan Lewis Perau, 78
Allan Lewis Perau, 78, of Austin, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at St. Mark's Lutheran Home.
He was born June 25, 1924, in Otranto Township, Iowa, to Willie and Ella (Reimann) Perau.
He graduated from Austin High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1948. He was an employee of the Hormel Food Corp., retiring after 37 years.
On Dec. 12, 1952, he married Eunice (Madsen) Higgins.
Al was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he was an usher.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He also enjoyed woodworking, practical jokes and spending time with family.
Survivors include wife, Eunice Perau, Austin; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Chuck Draheim, Mankato; Connie and Charlie Larsen, Good Thunder; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Suzin Higgins, Austin, Texas; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Perau, Omaha, Neb.; nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at the funeral home and Wednesday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 2 p.m., Wednesday, at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Natzke officiating. Casket bearers will be Daniel Draheim, Richard Draheim, Christopher Draheim, Candice Mohammad, Katherine Higgins, Sophia Fealy, Lisa Brazeau, Jeremy Larsen, Matthew Larsen and Shane Larsen.
Interment: Toeterville Cemetery in Toeterville, Iowa with military rites by Austin Post #91 American Legion and Olaf B. Damm Post #1216 VFW.

William L. Crilly, 91
William L. Crilly, 91, of Lake City, formerly of Austin, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Care Center, Wabasha.
He was born Aug. 21, 1911, in Geddes, S.D. to John E. and Love P. (Callahan) Crilly.
On June 15, 1935, he married Violet M. Mason at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin.
William was a home builder and owner and operator of Crilly's Cabins and Mobile Home Park in Lake City.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Karan Crilly, Austin; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Douglas, Madison, Wis.; Joan and Ed Wyant, Pepin, Wis.; Lois and Gene VanDenover, Lake City; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Malone, Burnsville; brother-in-law, Eugene McCloskey, Austin.
He was preceded in death by his wife on May 7, 1996, four sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, with a 6:30 p.m. wake service and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Service: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Paul Nelson officiating.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #91.

Violet "Vickie" Simonson, 76
Violet "Vickie" Deloris Simonson, 76, of Grand Meadow, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at the Grand Meadow Health Care Center, where she had lived since April.
She was born Dec. 5, 1925, to John and Bettsy (Knutson) Waller. She attended school in Austin.
On May 9, 1947, she married Maynard Everett James Simonson at the Lutheran Parsonage in Grand Meadow.
Vickie owned and operated the G.M. Cafe for four years and later cooked at Meadow Manor in Grand Meadow for seven and one-half years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, cooking, sewing and crafts.
Survivors include children, Lanna (Ronald) Gehling, Preston; Donnie Simonson, Grand Meadow; Jeanie (Dennis) King, Ostrander; Rhonda (Mike) Ptacek, Grand Meadow; Julie (Marty) Stier, Grand Meadow; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Julia (Dwight) Waldron, Austin; brothers-in-law, Ralph Christenson, Austin; Joe Monahan, Waseca; sister-in-law, Linda Waller, Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1980, one grandson, four brothers and five sisters.
Visitation: 5 to 8:30 p.m., today, Sept. 16, 2002, at the funeral home and Tuesday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 2 p.m., Tuesday, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ostrander with the Rev. Jane Timmerman officiating.
Interment: Bear Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Frankford Township.
