An unknown amount of anhydrous ammonia was found stolen from the LeRoy-Ostrander Ag Center Thursday morning.
According to a Mower County Sheriff's Department report, workers at the business found a section of garden hose sticking out of a tank which holds the anhydrous ammonia.
There are no suspects in the theft, but the sheriff's department says the ammonia was probably taken to manufacture methamphetamine. "That's the only reason to steal anhydrous in such a manner," said Chief Deputy Terese Amazi.
