Residents in Austin and other towns in the Mower County area took time Wednesday to pause and reflect on the year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America.

We should never forget what happened this time last year, but we must move on.

Many Americans have been flooded the past few days with media coverage on the Sept. 11 attacks. Stories that reflected on what exactly happened that day, to victims' accounts of what's happened to them since and even a behind-the-scenes look at what our nation's leaders were doing and thinking that day.

It's good for us to take a look back and remember what happened, but we shouldn't dwell on it. We must remember Sept. 11, 2001 as a tragic day in American history. But we must also move on.
