With the recent closing of the Lyle Market, residents were forced to drive to Austin or St. Ansgar to purchase produce or meats.
Not anymore.
The Lyle Cenex gas station and store is now carrying Geneva meats and some produce. From what store manager Rachel Wedeking said, more people are coming to the store after hearing of the new merchandise.
"There's been a few people that are happy that we're carrying the produce," Wedeking said. "There's more business than what we expected. We've had to increase our orders on everything."
On the produce side, lettuce, carrots, apples and oranges, to name a few, are available. In the meat case, customers can choose from hamburger, beef, pork or chicken and get a discount on bulk meat purchases.
"We've got a little bit of everything," she said.
Wedeking said the new additions will be available to customers and long as there's a need.
"We like it and we hope they they'll keep coming back," she said. "Just let us know how we're doing. We want to accommodate as many people as we can."
