Artist Series is worth attending

Now that the Austin Artist Series new season is less than a month away, it's a good time to reflect on how beneficial this group has been at providing quality cultural entertainment to the Austin area for the past 59 years.
Plain and simple, it's rare that towns the size of Austin are able to attract such musical talent. This year is no different, as the first show features The Brassissimo Vienna, at 7 p.m. Sept. 21. The final event takes place on May 8, 2003, with the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin.
Bringing quality musical talent to this area is a testament to the hard work and diligence of those associated with the Artist Series and its board. The members meet each year on what performers will be involved in each concert season.
However, those wanting to watch the concerts are asked to pay for a season ticket. But at $25 a person and $55 a family, it's a small price to pay to see quality musical entertainment here in our community.
