Arnold E. Syverud, 82
Arnold E. Syverud, 82, of Rochester, formerly of rural Austin, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.
He was born June 12, 1920, in Lansing Township, to John and Agnethe (Kopperud) Syverud.
He attended District 72 Joint School in Lansing Township. He was a baptized and confirmed member of Red Oak Lutheran Church.
He farmed the family farm in Lansing Township with his brother, Carl, until the farm was sold in 1976. After the sale of the farm, he moved to Rochester where he worked at Libby's during the pea and corn season until his retirement.
While living in Rochester, he was an associate member of Hosanna Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed traveling, especially after his retirement.
Survivors include brother, Arthur (Mildred) Syverud, Blooming Prairie; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl; and sisters, Clara Noble, Josena Drews and Olga Johnson.
Visitation: Was one hour before the service at the church today.
Service: Was 11 a.m., today, July 23, 2002, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church with Rev. Bruce Falksen officiating.
Interment: Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery.
