Lisa M. Andersen, 30
Lisa M. Andersen, 30, of Austin, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester
She was born July 20, 1971, to Dexter L. and Marsha M. (Kominek) Miller in Austin, where she grew up and graduated from Austin High School in 1989.
Moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1990, she married Jamey Andersen on May 25, 1991, in Austin.
The couple returned to Austin in 1995 where they owned and operated Emotions Flowers and Gifts until January 2002.
A member of Grace Lutheran Church, Lisa was an Ambassador in the Chamber of Commerce and also volunteered her time to Neveln School, Wescott Field Restoration Project, Red Cross, and she donated funeral flowers for the Oklahoma City Bombing at the request of the Governor of Oklahoma.
She enjoyed classic cars and spending time with her family, friends and relatives.
Survivors include husband, Jamey, Austin; sons, Alex and Adam, at home; maternal grandparents, Roy and Nita Huffman, Austin; uncles, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandfather, Edwin Kominek.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2002, at the funeral home and Saturday at the church one hour before the service.
Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, at Grace Lutheran Church with The Reverend Harold Deye officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery.

Dean Oliver Hovland, 73
Dean Oliver Hovland, 73, of Austin, died July 9, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.
He was born May 24, 1929, in Austin.
On April 7, 1956, he married Margorie Hovland.
He was a retired employee of Weyerhauser. Prior to working at Weyerhauser, he worked in radio and TV and had a country-western band called "Ding-A-Lings." He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Olaf Church and the AA Club.
Survivors include wife, Marjorie; children, Dana (Annette) Hovland, Faribault; Troy (Cindy) Hovland, Owatonna; Darrin Hovland, Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; siblings, Emery (Ruth) Hovland; Marion Travetto; George (Lorraine) Hovland; Orlo (Helen) Hovland; Dave (Betty) Hovland; Nancy Vaughn; Deanna (Bill) LeBarron; Nate (Gin) Hovland.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service: 1 p.m. memorial service, Friday, July 12, 2002, at St. Olaf Church with Rev. Russell Wangen officiating.

O. Evelyn Gordon, 89
O. Evelyn Gordon, 89, of Carpenter, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Montpelier, N.D., to Bendick and Hilda (Erickson) Holstad. She was baptized April 27, 1913, at Montpelier Lutheran Church and confirmed at Shell Rock Lutheran Church, Northwood, Iowa.
She graduated from Northwood High School in 1932 and taught in Hartland and Grove Township rural schools for five years.
On June 13, 1937, she married Roy Gordon at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa.
Evelyn was active in Deer Creek Lutheran Church for 65 years, a member of all the womens church groups, sang in the church choir and small groups, taught Sunday School and Bible School, held offices in womens' circle and aid, and was financial secretary.
She worked for 20 years at the Carpenter Post Office, serving as postmaster for eight years. While raising her family, she was a substitute teacher in the Carpenter Consolidated School District.
She was a historian, card player, crossword puzzler, fisherwoman and traveler and enjoyed friends and family.
Survivors include sons, Robert and Sharon Gordon, Spirit Lake, Iowa; Bruce and Carol Gordon, Grundy Center, Iowa; daughters, Mrs. John (Ruth) Rollefson, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Mrs. Ken (Marjean) Hoeg, Prior Lake; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Aldon Holstad, Glenville; sisters, Mrs. Jewel (Lillian) Thompson, Northwood, Iowa; Mrs. Curtis (Luella) Leidal, Northwood, Iowa; Mrs. Leon (Burnette) Sanderson, Glenville; Mrs. Max (Mildred) Patterson, St. Ansgar, Iowa; Mrs. Stan (Idena) Hagen, Plymouth; sister-in-law, Dorothy Holstad, Austin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; parents; brothers, Marvin and Irving Holstad; sister, Gilma Holstad and Julia Stumo.
Service: Was 1 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2002, at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa, with the Rev. Kathy Larson officiating.
Interment: Deer Creek Cemetery.
