A 35-year-old Austin man is in jail after being accused of sexually assaulting his 37-year-old girlfriend.
According to police reports, the couple met at a bar Wednesday after work. The woman says she went home before the man did and when she left, he already had consumed a pitcher of beer and a rum and Coke.
At approximately 3 a.m., the man entered her apartment and went into her bedroom where she had been sleeping. Police reports state the man was agitated and told the woman he was "going to get some," referring to sex.
She informed him he wasn't, which she says made him more upset.
He straddled her and held her down and bit her as she tried to get away. She was able to leave the bedroom and went to the kitchen where she tried to call the police. He ripped the phone out of her hands and refused to leave the apartment. She went back into the bedroom and he followed. She says he then held her down and had sex with her.
Afterwards, she went into the living room and sat down on the sofa. He came out, kissed her and said "thank you" before going back into the bedroom and going to sleep.
When he woke up that afternoon, they had a verbal dispute and she made him leave before going to the Austin Medical Center.
As the man was being taken to the jail, he asked officers "how can I be arrested for raping my girlfriend?"
