Robert Holmen, Sr., is a believer.
The 79-year-old retired over-the-road truck driver was diagnosed with blocked arteries a year ago and had triple bypass surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Following the surgery, the LeRoy man enrolled in the cardiac rehabilitation care program at Austin Medical Center – Mayo Health System.
Three times a week for six weeks, Holmen participated in the rigorous aerobic exercise program and gleaned information from a far-ranging educational component.
"I could just feel myself getting stronger every day," Holmen said in an interview in a recent edition of Hometown Health, AMC's newsletter.
The rehab program offers both inpatient and outpatient services.
