The Hayfield Heat won two out of three games over the weekend as they beat Pine Island 4-2 on the road Saturday and topped Stewartville 8-4 after losing to Stewartville 4-1 on the road Sunday.

The Heat (11-9 overall) clinched the No. 2 seed in the Twin Rivers League Tournament due mostly to their win over Pine Island, which was tied with them coming into the game. Ben Pollock allowed just three hits and no walks in seven innings as he picked up the win in that contest.

In the doubleheader at Stewartville, the Heat had just four hits in the first game, but tallied 11 hits in the nightcap. Tyler Krekling went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.

Hayfield will open its postseason against No. 7 Plainview at Plainview Saturday at 4 p.m.
