The Austin Jaycee All-Star baseball team erupted for six runs in the third inning to beat pre-tournament favorite Marshall and capture the Blue Earth Invitational title over the weekend.

MacEagon Voyce and Brian Voigt teammed up for the mound win over Marshall. Earlier in the tourney the Jaycees defeated Owatonna 14-4 to earn their title shot.

In Saturday's play, the Stars beat Worthington, 11-0, and were upset by Albert Lea Union, 11-8. Danny Hays, Brad Tucker and John Kirby all hit home runs for the Jaycees, while Voigt and Steven Rizzi both had triples.

"We had some great defense by Sam Stier," said coach Gabby Weiss. "It was a real team win with everybody contributing. Our pitchers -- Voyce, Voigt, Nate Justice, Kody Retterath and Derek Emanuel -- did a great job, and our bats came alive. We had 25 hits in Sunday's two games."

This weekend the Jaycees will be in the Northfield Tournament.
