Just in time for the start of summer vacation, the Austin Municipal Swimming Pool opens Saturday.
Swimmers can enjoy the outdoor pool, beginning at 1 p.m.
There are some difficulties with the water slide equipment, but it is anticipated that all problems will be rectified in time for the Saturday pool opener.
Austin Public Schools and Austin Area catholic Schools dismiss their students for the summer this week, meaning the pool will become an instant favorite attraction of children, teenagers and adults.
Lifeguards and pool managers have been hired and concessions stocked and the city's popular water recreation attraction is ready for another summer of fun.
Tags are on sale this week at the offices of the Austin Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department through Friday and will be sold at the pool thereafter.
Tag fees this season are $10 for children and $20 for adults.
