We should keep our guard up

Vice President Dick Cheney said this past weekend that future terrorist attacks against America are likely.

The big question is: How do we prevent such events from happening here?

We don't think there's really a concrete answer to that. However, we can all be prepared the best way possible by anticipating such an attack.

Local police and fire personnel are already aware that any type of catastrophe could strike this area at any time.

The best we can do, as citizens, is to also be prepared and informed.

After Sept. 11, 2001, this country outlook on many things changed. Cheney's remarks underscored that we must continue to be on guard.
