A fire in Lyle early Wednesday destroyed a house but apparently injured no one, according to authorities.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Department was notified of the blaze at around 1 a.m. by 18-year-old Nathan Wayne Fett, who is listed as the property owner. Fett was on his way toward the property, located at 54604 140th St., when he saw the flames, according to a sheriff’s department report.
When Mower County deputies and Lyle firefighters arrived, the house was completely engulfed. An unregistered pickup truck sitting nearby was also destroyed by the fire.
However, it appeared as if no one was living in the home, as there was no power going to the property at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and the Minnesota Fire Marshall’s Office will investigate later Wednesday, Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said.
