Bertha Francis Yarwood, 93

Bertha Francis Yarwood, 93, of Austin died Friday, May 10, 2002 at Austin Medical Center.

She was born May 24, 1908 to Henry and Mary (Davis) Orth in Illinois.

She married Ray L. Yarwood on November 11, 1926 at her home in Austin.

A lifelong Austin and Lansing area resident, Bertha loved her garden, flowers and her yard.

She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

She was a member of Lansing United Methodist Church where she belonged to Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her daughter Rosemary Kuether of Austin; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Gladys Swanson of Austin; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray; parents; four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 12, 2002 and one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Service: 11 a.m., Monday at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Tamke officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery.

Inez D. Huber, 82

Inez D. Huber, 82, formerly of Austin, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at Season's Hospice in Rochester.

She was born in Tracy, Minn. January 30, 1920 to Loren and Ida (Bottcher) Lorimor.

On September 16, 1944 she married Cletus Huber at Queen of Angels Church in Austin.

She worked at Hormel Foods for ten years and was active in school and church activities.

She was a homemaker and dedicated her life to her family.

Survivors include son Larry (Laurie) Huber, Burbank, Calif.; daughters Bonnie (Allan) Prestegard, Pine Island, Pastor Sandra (LaVern) Burdick, Rochester; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Betty Bednar, Austin; sisters-in-law Grace Lorimor, Austin, LeEtta Lorimor, Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, brothers Lee, Dale, Arnold and Lester Lorimor; sisters Frances Coyal, Mary Ann Pearl and Bernice Lorimor.

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, May 12, 2002, at the funeral home and at the church on Monday for one hour before the service.

Service: 11 a.m., Monday at Berean Community Church in Rochester with Pastor Sandra Burdick and Pastor Roland Burt officiating.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery.

Richard Joseph Allard, 73

Richard Joseph Allard, 73, formerly of Austin and Albert Lea, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Loma Linda, Calif.

He was born in Austin January 20, 1929 to Harold and Rose (Stephani) Allard.

He attended school in Austin.

He served with the U.S. Army during WWII from May 1946 to October 1947.

On November 20, 1948 he married Gloria Winjum in Albert Lea.

He worked at Hormel Foods, Usem's Chevrolet, Brua's Auto Service in Albert Lea and House Chevrolet in Stewartville.

He owned and operated many area businesses including Smitty's Tavern and Allard's Auto Repair in Austin, Standard Oil Station and Southside Shell in Albert Lea.

He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and VFW.

He raced old modified cars, was a racing crew member and played hockey with the Albert Lea Rangers.

He enjoyed camping and sitting around the fire with his friends.

Survivors include sons Rick (Carol) Allard, Coralville, Iowa, Dave (Jeanne) Allard, Albert Lea, Terry (Melodee) Allard, Grand Meadow; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters Isabelle (Edward) Solberg, Austin, Rosella Josephson, Austin; special friend Betty Newman, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gloria and brother-in-law Clyde Josephson.

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2002, and one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Service: 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea with Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea military organizations.

Interment: Hillcrest Cemetery.
