What mothers will do for their children.

Besides carrying them for nine months, getting stretch marks, no sleep … and that is only in the first year of a child's life.

Mothers will go the extra mile for their children. They carpool children to various activities and will make sure their child will have the last piece of pie.

When that same child goes to college, he or she decides that his parents are way out of touch. When children graduate from college and look for a job, they start to realize how smart their parents can be. When a parent becomes special in their child's eye, it is a good day for both parent and child.

Twenty local mothers did something special for their children when they performed at the annual Just For Kix competition. They called themselves the Momsters and did a dance routine dressed in scrubs and doctor's masks.

The comical routine was done to parody of the Madonna song, 'Like a Virgin' to the words 'Like a Surgeon'.

Lorene Strobel's husband was in a large gray wig and 20 moms danced around him. Strobel, the mother of four, asked her husband, David, if he wanted to be a hero for their five-year-old daughter Madeline by performing with the moms, and he said yes.

The daughters of the moms were thrilled that their mothers did this fun dance routine.

Lindsey Williams said, "My mom makes me feel good when I see her dancing."

Katelyn Kehret echoed Lindsey's sentiments saying, "It was fun to watch our mom's practice every Tuesday."

Alice Wangen said, "It's cool our mom's did this."

Lorene Strobel said she got involved with the dance routine as a bunch of mom's down the street from her like Mona Bachmeier and Janet Oman were involved so she decided to do it too.

"It was a lot of fun getting together to practice and it meant a lot to our daughters," said Strobel.
